What is worth reporting

These messages genuinely improve the tool, and the more specific they are the faster something gets fixed:

• A result that contradicts what you can hear. If the score or the pitch reading is obviously wrong, tell me your browser, your device, and roughly what your voice is like. Include the numbers from the raw measurements panel if you can — they usually identify the problem immediately.
• Recording that will not start. Include your browser and version, and whether the microphone permission prompt appeared at all.
• Accessibility problems. Anything that fails with a screen reader or keyboard navigation is treated as a bug, not a feature request.
• Questions about the method. The scoring weights and the algorithms are published on the about page, and I am happy to explain any part of them in more detail.

What this inbox cannot do

I cannot assess your voice personally, interpret your results as a health matter, or advise on a voice problem. I am a developer, not a clinician. If you are worried about hoarseness, pain, or a voice change that has lasted more than a couple of weeks, please see a doctor or a speech-language pathologist — a website is not the right tool for that question.

For gender-affirming voice training specifically, this tool works well as a mirror between sessions, but it is not a substitute for working with a qualified voice teacher or speech-language pathologist.

Privacy of your message

Emails are used only to answer you, and are not added to any mailing list or shared with anyone. Please do not send audio recordings — I have no way to analyse them for you, and the whole design principle of this site is that your voice stays on your own device.
